Ocean City Charter Policies
Please read before booking your trip. It’s not the fun part — but it helps us keep things smooth, fair, and easy for everyone.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
We get it — things happen. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just give us a heads up at least 10 days before your trip and we’ll gladly issue a full refund or move your booking to another day.
If you cancel less than 10 days before your trip, your deposit will be forfeited. No exceptions. This is because once you book, we reserve that date just for you — and that includes turning other people away.
Weather-related cancellations will be made only by the Captain, based on safety and conditions. If we cancel for weather before departure, you can choose to reschedule or request a refund. If we’ve already left the dock, partial refunds may be discussed — but again, safety is always the priority.
No-shows — if you book a trip and don’t show up, that’s an automatic forfeiture of all funds paid. Please respect the time we set aside for you!
REFUNDS
We do not issue cash refunds.
If your trip was paid by cash or check, our accounting team will send you a check refund within 10 business days.
If you paid by credit card, your refund will be credited back to your card at the time of cancellation.
DISPUTES
In all honesty, disputes are incredibly rare around here. Most of our trips end with smiles, high-fives, and full coolers. That said, we understand that questions or concerns can come up now and then — and we’re always happy to talk through any issues.
If you feel something wasn’t handled quite right, we simply ask that you submit your concern in writing. This helps us keep everything clear, professional, and well-documented. Written submissions can be sent via email or mail, and we’ll respond promptly to resolve things fairly.
We run a tight ship — but we also care about our customers. If you’ve got a question, concern, or comment, just reach out. We’re here to help.
TIPPING
While tips are never required, they are very much appreciated by the crew — and go a long way in showing your appreciation for their hard work. A customary tip is around 20% of the trip total, especially if your crew worked hard to put you on the fish, kept lines untangled, cleaned your catch, and made your time on the water smooth and enjoyable.
Remember, your crew is doing more than just driving the boat. They’re constantly working behind the scenes: rigging lines, handling bait, assisting with catches, keeping the deck clean, offering instruction, taking photos, answering questions, and making sure everyone is safe and having fun.
If your trip went above and beyond — maybe we found a hot bite, helped a first-timer reel in their first flounder, or just kept the vibe great all day — a thoughtful tip lets the crew know you noticed. Tips can be given in cash at the dock or added to your payment if arranged in advance.
We genuinely appreciate every guest who joins us aboard. Whether you’re fishing, crabbing, clamming, or just relaxing — a little gratitude goes a long way toward keeping the good times rolling.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Just like all boats at the Ocean City Fishing Center, we follow a zero tolerance policy.
No illegal drugs or hard liquor are permitted on board — no exceptions. You’re welcome to bring beer, snacks, and drinks, but let’s keep it respectful and fun for all aboard.
