During your trip, Captain Nick will stop by his secret crabbing spot, where commercial-style crab pots are quietly soaking beneath the surface. Guests take turns pulling up traps and harvesting their own Maryland blue crabs — no experience needed!

- Sort through the day’s catch and keep what’s legal
- Prep and re-bait the traps like a true waterman
It’s one of the most exciting parts of the trip, especially for kids who get to see the crabs up close, learn how to tell the difference between males and females, and get a hands-on lesson in sustainable harvesting.
Clamming in the Bay
Looking to cool off during your trip? We’ll pull into a calm, shallow cove where guests can hop off the boat and explore the sandy bottom in search of clams.
- Use clamming rakes or just your feet to find buried clams
- Wade through knee- to waist-deep water
- Collect enough for dinner — or just enjoy the hunt
